See You Gotta Work It Out...
No, this was not an excuse for me to google image search Beyonce.
Basically, the Neptunes did two cuts with Ms. Knowles. One (to the best of my knowledge) never ended up on the album; the other got put on the Goldmember soundtrack. My First Time is on the Wifey/Change Clothes/Fuck All Night steez that got a little tired to me. She sounds okay on the track, but you can see why it got left off the album.
Work It Out (from Goldmember) is on that Neptunes jazzy shit, and B does her best Pharrell impression. She can't quite muster the vocal charisma of Skateboard P on those wails (maybe I only think that because I'm a Pharrell groupie), but she ends up transmitting the urgency akin to Crazy in Love. The Neptunes brought some robot funk via live drums and Chad on the sax. Shit's hot.

And when I did an iTunes search for Beyonce, this came up as my number one song. It's off some DJ Versatyle mixtape, but it's one of those great screw tracks with the big bass and rolling snares. This is one of the only Lloyd Banks verses I like and the beat is hot (it's different than the OG Storch track).

fem vocals that are TOO screwed down can sound ridiculous/creepy but B still sounds sexy at this speed (no slomo)

The Work it Out video put my doubts about the song at ease.
i kinda like the work it out song.. but that's cause i like most neptunes productions after i met chad hugo.

my original intent for this blog was for me to post up all the obscure neptunes shit ive accumulated over the years. its grown into me just putting up random songs, but im filled with reverence for anyone thats met those dudes.

maybe i should and i can get some of his powers in beatmaking haha. he had a bentley gt. Dope ride, capital D. pharrell went to high school 10 minutes away from my house.. i had a friend who met him in an arcade or something. they played some games or something haha. maybe i'll meet some more celebrities in my life.. i'd prefer to meet jessica alba or scarlett johansson.
we know. it's sort of an ongoing obsession for you.

you can do what i do and have a huge list of favorites to check daily or hope we make a group blog a la shrimp.
As much as I'd like having a group blog, I don't really see what the point would be at this point in time. Because I almost never write about personal shit having a second blog for music seems enh. But if people really felt strongly enough about the need I guess I'd be down.
